About Glynn Academy Baseball

Dating back to the 1920’s, Glynn Academy brings 100 years of rich baseball tradition to the state of Georgia. Over 100 next level players have come through our doors with 19 of them climbing to the professional ranks. The Terrors have established a winning tradition, accumulating 10 Region Championships, and the 1973 State Championship.

In recent years, Glynn Academy has shared tremendous baseball success. In 2017, Glynn Academy secured a region championship, and advanced to the sweet 16 while setting the school record for wins at 24. GA backed that up in 2018 by once again securing 24 wins to tie the previous teams record. In 2020, the Terrors had a 12-2 record, and we’re sitting atop the Georgia Class 6A rankings before COVID cut the season short. Glynn backed that up in 2021, compiling a 21-13 record and earning an elite eight appearance, ending a 31 year elite eight drought. In 2022 and 2023, the Terrors have tied the school’s win record at 24, and advanced to back to back sweet sixteen’s.

Looking ahead to 2024, John Welborn enters his 3rd season as the Terror’s skipper. Glynn Academy returns 6 starters including the 2 top of the line starting pitchers from the 2023 squad. The Terrors look to continue the unprecedented success of the past few years, and bring home the 2nd state title in school history.
